We are excited to announce that we will be having an alphorn gathering in Tahoe this coming October! This will be an inaugural event that will hopefully repeat annually. The Büchel is considered the little brother of the alphorn. Technically more demanding to play, its sound exudes a fascinating roughness. Melodically, we take a slightly different approach to the alphorn: the Büchel can be played in several voices, but it is also perfectly suited as a call and communication instrument in a simple sense, even without notes.
