BDP “The mountain is calling” for alphorn players with Berthold Schick

The educational week The mountain calls for alphorn players focuses on making music together in an alphorn ensemble three times a year. For five days, a repertoire is worked on and the basics of alphorn playing – breathing, embouchure, tone formation and intonation – are refreshed and deepened using pieces of different styles. In addition, instrument-specific features are addressed and new literature and impulses for practicing at home are provided.

Excursions and concerts in the southern Black Forest region, where the repertoire is presented, round off the program.

The online seminar series The Mountain Calls with Bertold Schick is a condensed version and digital supplement to the educational week of the same name for alphorn players at the BDB Academy. Each workshop focuses on an alphorn composition written by Bertold Schick. Bertold Schick presents exercises on the basics of alphorn playing and introduces the new composition on this basis. Participants expand and consolidate their skills in the areas of playing methodology, breathing, embouchure, tone formation and can ask questions in the chat. At the end of each workshop, the participants have not only improved their skills, but also have a new piece in their repertoire. The new piece is included in the participation fee. COURSE IN GERMAN
