  • Northwest Alphorn Workshop and Festival

    Join us in Leavenwoth, WA in the heart of the Cascade Mountains for an amazing musical learning and performing experience!  Players of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend, as we learn and play under the instruction of our international faculty. Activities will include learning to yodel, playing Swiss/Bavarian field games, an alphorn logo contest, and performing as a group while wearing traditional German trachten.     The Blue Ridge Alphorn Workshop is a weekend long celebration of the alphorn that takes place in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The workshop is designed to cater to musicians of all skill levels, including day-one beginners. Our home base for the weekend is the beautiful Penmerryl Farm where there are a multitude of opportunities for enjoying our horns in their natural setting including 5.5 miles of hiking trails and a private lake. The festival not only offers a stage for the up-and-coming talents of Swiss folklore, but also a varied supporting program for visitors. With concerts, demonstrations and interactive experiences, Grindelwald becomes a meeting place for Swiss traditions.

  • Federal Yodeling Festival Basel

    For the first time since 1924, a Federal Yodelling Festival is to be held in Basel in the summer of 2026. In addition to around 1,000 judged performances in the categories of yodeling, alphorn blowing and flag-waving, the focus at a Federal Yodeling Festival is always on socializing. The three-day event in the city on the Rhine is expected to attract 10,000 participants and 150,000 visitors. The date of the 32nd Federal Yodelling Festival Basel has now been set. It

    The 2025 Midwest Alphorn Retreat will officially begin at 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 23rd at the Franciscan Life Process Center in Lowell, MI (15 miles east of the Grand Rapids Airport).  We conclude after brunch on Sunday, July 27th.
