Sheet Music – Trevor Reid

Trevor was born in Fresno, CA where he grew up studying the French Horn with Rick Gratz and Dr. James Winter. He played in the youth orchestra there and toured Europe as a soloist. He attended UCLA as a French Horn performance major with Brian O’Connor. While in LA, he played in the American Youth Symphony and performed as a freelance musician. Trevor then began a masters degree in music performance at CSU, Fresno where he studied the valved horn with Dave Krehbiel, and the natural horn with Dr. Thomas Hiebert.  During this time, Trevor performed with the Fresno Philharmonic and other orchestras throughout central California.  It wasn’t until several years later Trevor discovered the alphorn through a local Craigslist posting. He immediately fell in love with the instrument, as it represented a marriage of his two passions: nature and music. Today Trevor lives in Santa Barbara, CA with his wife and daughter, and works at the local hospital as an RN.  He spends his days off hiking, playing alphorn with friends, and sharing his love of the instrument with the community in whatever ways he can.
