Born in 1994, Christofer Borloz grew up in Fenil-sur-Corsier (VD), near Vevey, and now lives in La Tour-de-Peilz. He took up music theory in 1999 at the Monts-de-Corsier music school, and drumming in 2000. He then went on to learn drums in 2003 and percussion in 2005. He attended compulsory school in Corsier-sur-Vevey and Montreux, and entered the Gymnase Auguste Piccard in Lausanne in a special maturité class for artists and elite athletes, where he obtained his maturité (specific music option) in 2014. At the same time, from 2009, he studied in Jacques Hostettler’s percussion class at the Conservatoire de Vevey-Montreux Riviera, where he obtained his certificate in 2015. He then transferred to the Haute Ecole de Musique (HEMU) in Lausanne, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in percussion in 2018, followed in 2020 by a Master of Arts in music pedagogy, specializing in instrumental teaching (percussion).
In 2012, he took up the alphorn and has been deputy director of the Swiss Alphorn Academy since 2021. He also plays with the “En Moille-Saulaz” quartet, of which he is an instructor. He also obtained the diploma of Alphorn/Büchel judge from the AFY (Association Fédérale des Yodleurs) in 2015. He won the Festival International de cor des Alpes de Nendaz in 2024.
Christofer teaches percussion, drums and drums at the Ecole de Musique “Multisite”, the Ecole de Musique “Les Colombes” in Collombey, the Ecole de Musique du Pays-d’Enhaut and the Ecole de Musique “Music’Agora”.
Since 2001, he has been an active member of the Monts-de-Corsier brass band “L’Amitié” as percussionist and drummer. Since 2017, he has been principal percussionist with the Brass Ensemble “Dix de cuivre”.
