Alphorn 555 – world record attempt

The event ALPHORN 555 shall make history and we alphorn players will be the main actors!

“The world record in alphorn blowing with a (very large) large formation belongs to Central Switzerland,” Heinz Rutishauser, the head of Bergbahnen Beckenried-Emmetten AG, said to me with a grin a few weeks ago. The people of Nidwalden want to set the world record with at least 555 alphorn blowers on August 31, 2024 on the beautiful Klewenalp. The Federal Association of Yodelers and all five sub-associations are enthusiastic about the idea and are partners in this spectacular event. High above and with a view of Lake Lucerne, over 3,000 visitors are expected. Federal Councillor Albert Rösti has also already confirmed his participation. The Klewenalp is known for its annual 3-day KlewenAlpFestival with natural yodel, Ländler and the yodel mass.

Make a big note of the date in your agenda. As soon as we have information about the organization of your arrival and return, the catering or other key data I will write you an email again. Feel free to forward the email and promote the event … not all alphorn players have an e-mail or are members of the association. All are allowed to participate.
