International alphorn meeting in Rüthen

In cooperation with the town of Rüthen, the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, the Walibo alphorn players from Lippstadt, the Waldfrevel alphorn group from Warstein, the Haarstrangalphorn players from various places in the Soest, Brilon and Dortmund districts, and the alphorn maker Hubert Hense from Anröchte-Altenmellrich, the second international Rüthen alphorn meeting will take place on the weekend of April 26-28, 2024 in the Bibertal in Rüthen.

Friday, 26. 04.2024

7.00 p.m.
Opening concert in the Johanneskirche in Rüthen, Niedere Straße, with world-class alphorn player Arkady Shilkloper from Moscow and music teacher Harduin Boeven from Lippstadt. The proceeds go to the Soest Hospice and the support associations of the 5 schools in Rüthen.

Saturday, 27. 04. 2024

10.00 a.m. Alphorn workshop with Arkady Shilkloper, in two groups

12.00 pm free alphorn playing by the individual groups

2.00 p.m. Full choir at the Bibersee

3 p.m. Auction of a spruce alphorn built by alphorn maker Hubert Hense. The proceeds go to the Soest Christian Hospice and the support associations of the 5 schools in Rüthen

followed by free play

19.00 hrs cozy get-together of all alphorn players around the campfire in the outdoor area of the youth hostel Rüthen.
