Alphorn day at Oberblegisee with Alphorn in the Alps

Get to know the alphorn in its natural habitat. From Zurich I will take you to the most beautiful places in the Alps and show you how to play the alphorn. In a short time you will learn the basics of alphorn blowing – no previous musical knowledge is required. Listen to your breath turn into good vibes and the rocks begin to sing. It’s mighty fun and opens your ears to the soundscape of the mountains! Unlike other alphorn courses, you will discover the alphorn not in a musty practice room but where it belongs. For the day we provide an alphorn for all participants.

The journey to Oberblegisee is part of the adventure: first a one-hour ride by minibus to Luchsingen, then a breezy gondola ride to Brunnenberg and finally a steep climb on foot (400 meters in altitude). But the spectacular scenery at this quiet mountain lake at 1420 m.a.s.l. compensates us for the exertions. The steep rock faces sing a sweet echo that makes your first contact with the alphorn an unforgettable experience. For the lunch break we walk to the cozy Bächibeizli – the tenant also plays the alphorn, but will probably not find time to accompany us. Possibility to spend the night on the Bösbächi Alp (near the Bächibeizli) and watch the alpine dairyman making cheese in the morning.
