2nd International Alphorn Meeting in the Netherlands

At this meeting, we practise a lot and cover new things. At the end of the day, we organize a concert in the city center with all the participants. We introduce the instrument to the audience and explain what it is used for, how it is built and how it is played. Many people know nothing about the alphorn. On the day there is coffee, tea, drinks and a simple lunch. There is plenty of time to exchange experiences and new things are introduced during the breaks. You can also try out other alphorns. There are also many alphorns, adapters between F and F sharp and many types of mouthpieces from different alphorn makers (Bader, Eichenberger, Bernatone, …) to try out. An interesting day with lots of new things to try out. Musically we rehearse new pieces and give hot tips for playing. Big news. We have the first wedge mouthpiece from Canada for alphorn. A warm welcome! Prerequisite for participation is some experience with wind instruments.
