Alphorntag at Glattalp

Alphorn in the Alps proposes this special alphorn introduction course in the Swiss alps.

Spend an unforgettable day in the Swiss Alps and immerse yourself in the magical soundscape of the mountains. From Zurich we will take you to the most beautiful places and show you how to play the alphorn. In a short time you will learn the basics of alphorn blowing – no previous musical knowledge is required. Listen to your breath turn into music and the rocks begin to sing. It’s great fun! Unlike other alphorn courses, we introduce you to the iconic Swiss instrument in its natural habitat. For the day we provide an alphorn for all participants.

Glattalp is not only a scenic highlight. The mountain lake and the echo amidst the steep rock faces create an incomparable alphorn experience. One of the coldest places in Switzerland in winter, a visit is also refreshing in summer. After a one-hour drive to Muotathal, a cable car takes us to 1852 meters above sea level. We can now play the alphorn at one of the echo points or during an entertaining walk around the Glattalpsee. For lunch, a cozy mountain restaurant is a good choice; alternatively, we bring the food ourselves.
